Great place ,booked as we were visiting Blenheim palace nearby. Friendly welcome , let us order food as kitchen was nearly ready to close when we arrived and then showed to our rooms whilst it was prepared. Nice , clean ,comfortable , warm and well appointed rooms equipped with everything you would need. The meal we had was nice , Well cooked and generous portions. The pub is a bit of a throw back but i mean that as massive compliment. Full of individual character ,very friendly people (both staff and the locals in the pub ) and really well kept beer . The bonus on top was there was a live singer who gently encouraged everyone to join in with him which mostly the whole pub did . Great night . Great atmosphere . Beautiful views of the canal where a new decking has just been built. Lovely breakfast, lots available, well cooked . We will definitely return,6 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The room was a good size as was the shower room. Beds were comfortable. We had an evening meal there of fish, chips and peas which was very nice and good value for money. The staff were polite, friendly and very helpful - e.g pointing us in the right direction to get the bus into Oxford! Lovely outside area by the canal to sit and have a drink on a nice evening. Somewhere I would stay again if in the area.

Ive just come back from here for the weekend and i must say what a lovely place it is, the canal is beautiful it would be even better in the summer time, my stay was perfect the room was bright and airy, very clean, the bed was super comfy and the food was divine defo recommend the full cooked breakfast the staff were also really nice and friendly always checking in to make sure everything was ok we had the pleasure of some folk singers on friday evening too, id give the highwaymen a 10/10 thank guys for a lovely experience hopefully we will be back for another stay in the summer 👍👌

Very nice, comfortable rooms. Well decorated and furnished. Liked the extra touches…. tea/ coffee/ hot chocolate and biscuits! Ample parking. Convenient location for Blenheim palace.

We arrived on a very cold day and the hotel and our room were well heated and warm. It was just an overnight stopover and we appreciated the hotel having a restaurant so we didn't have to go back out to find somewhere to eat. Our meals were very tasty and well priced. The bar staff were very pleasant and helpful. There was plenty of space in our ensuite twin room, the beds were comfortable and the location at the back of the hotel was peaceful. The room was nicely decorated.

Great location to visit Oxford. The rooms are above a very traditional, old pub. Our room was very clean & comfortable and had a lovely old style theme. We were treated to Sea Shanties on the evening that we stayed. Very entertaining.

Location on the canal is fabulous for walking or cycling. Easy access to Oxford airport and Blenheim Palace (the reason for our visit). Pretty spacious wardrobe with quite a few hangers and it was nice to find a kettle with some tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Good old English breakfast (albeit a bit pricy) is available in the morning.

The Highwayman is perfect for me as I travel to Oxford frequently for work. It is a literal stone throw away from the business park where I work, after which I can retire to a pint, a home cooked lasagna and a comfortable night, then roll out of bed to a continental breakfast in my room, and be in the office bright and early the following morning. All for a very reasonable price. I just wish I had time to try the cooked breakfasts, as apparently they're amazing! :)

Spacious room, friendly and genuine service. Good breakfast, and quiet restaurant (morning to join anyway). Was able to work peacefully while having breakfast.
